A Baby Shower Tea Party

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

I had the privilege to help throw a baby shower for my one of my dearest friends, Kate this past weekend. One of the neatest things is that I co-hosted with Beth, a mutual friend of Kate's who happens to be my neighbor, and is now a great friend of mine. We decided to do a tea party theme because Kate loved drinking tea early on in her pregnancy, and although she is having a boy, we wanted to do something girlie for Kate. So...a tea party it was.

The invites might have been my favorite thing about the shower, thanks to Little Yellow Leaf Handmade Invitations and Stationery. I found some cute wording on the web, cast my vision and then they did the rest. Check out the blog! littleyellowleaf.blogspot.com

Beth is an amazing cook, and she made the best chicken salad sandwiches I have ever had, and I don't even like chicken salad. She also made tomato, pesto and mozzarella sandwiches on Foccacia bread, and we of course had cucumber sandwiches. My job was to make scones. We had chocolate chip orange scones and vanilla bean scones. We also had lemon curd tarts.

Thanks to all of my family members who let us borrow things to help make the shower special, and to my hubby James who ran to find me vanilla beans, searched for red scrapbook paper, and took care of the boys. I had so much fun and I think Beth and I made a great team! I can't wait to meet baby Cooper!
