Eli's 100th Day Celebration

Thursday, January 20, 2011

I like to embrace the Polish and Slovak traditions and cultures of my families, so naturally, I want my children to embrace their heritage as well. So now, we not only enjoy Polkas, Kielbasa, Povitica, and big family get-togethers, we also get to partake in Korean traditions. One such tradition is the 100th Day Celebration. Because of the high infant mortality rate in ancient Korea, families would celebrate when a child reached 100 days of life. The next big milestone is the child's first birthday. My mother-in-law made mounds of delicious Korean food, and Eli was dressed in the traditional Han-Bok.
Thank you to everyone who came out and celebrated with us in the middle of the crazy holiday season. We all felt so loved by you! Enjoy the pictures. Thanks for taking them Beth!
